讲座内容：

The talk discusses the relevance of anthropological linguistics to language research and how language studies can benefit from anthropological linguistics. It begins with an overview of the development of linguistic anthropology as a discipline, its principles and traditions, followed by discussions on the achievements of linguistic anthropology which is grounded on empirical and cognitive studies of a wide range of fields such as ethno-biological classification, categorization and conceptualization, emotion research, among others. Methods of ethno-semantics as one of the most fundamental and fruitful methodologies of research will be illustrated from an array of languages across several continents.
