Conference aims:
This year’s conference aims to explore the educational, economic, as well as social aspects of ESP teaching and research in the Asian context, to establish the basis, network and recognizable meeting point of ESP researchers and practitioners. We believe that with contribution from participants from China and other parts of the world, this conference will further development of the field in general and enhance ESP research and teaching practice in Asia in particular.

Introduction to College of Arts, China University of Petroleum
The College of Arts was founded in May, 2011, incorporating the then School of Foreign Studies and the three departments—Law, Chinese Language and Arts—affiliated with the then College of Humanities and Social Science. It offers 5 bachelor degree programs covering 3 discipline categories of literature, law and arts, teaching public elective courses in English and specialty courses in humanities and social science. Committed to talent cultivation, scientific research and social service, the College enjoys a striking distinction and competitive edge in College English teaching reform, in producing quality graduates with language competence in English and Russian, and in such fields as energy law and policy, regional culture and art design. There are over 200 staff members, over 1200 students in this College and over 5000 students have graduated.
