Just listen to the tapes for several times and imitate the pronunciation and intonation, learn the new words through context, instead of reciting new vocabularies mechanically. Find every possible opportunity to practise spoken English with foreigners and friends who love and are willing to speak English in public.

为什么参加演讲大赛？
Out of great enthusiasm and strong interest. And to accumulate valuable experiences of speaking English impromptu. Also, it’s a wonderful opportunity to make friends with so many English lovers from different provinces and cities and to have effective communication and exchange of ideas with them(esp. those friends from the autonomous regions, getting closer to their regional cultures and customs).

参加演讲大赛中最难忘的一件事是什么？
It was challenging to be the first contestant in the semi-finals in CCTV Cup. I was quite nervous, but also felt excited to experience a kind of nice and special feeling on the stage.

参加演讲大赛有哪些收获？
Actually, countless! The most important and impressive one is the ability to learn how to express myself effectively in English in different situations, esp. helping me express myself in English in a more flexible and natural way

参加比赛对你的英语学习是否有所提高，有怎样的提高？
Definitely YES! The improvement of English proficiency is not only reflected in a more flexible and fluent spoken English, but also can be seen clearly on the written ability as well, say, the English essay writing, the composition writing in the exams, business letter and document writing..
想对以后的选手说些什么？
Keep goals in mind, be well-prepared, practise with great efforts;
Perseverance and sober mind and careful observation;
Be natural on the stage when expressing yourself on particular issues.

对演讲大赛的评价是什么？
Quite orderly and scientific organization of the contest, having a influence upon the English study trend in different regions in China, providing a platform for college students who have dreams in CCTV Cup to show their talents, explore potentials and communicate well with all the English lovers coming from afar.

演讲比赛是否让你的生活出现了转折点？
Yes, more opportunities come to me when I get fully-prepared, getting to know more people from all walks of life.

现在的工作是什么？
Fresh graduate from university, doing the exportation in a company for internship.

演讲大赛的经历给你的就业有没有带来影响？是什么样的影响？
Right, the unforgettable public speaking experience helped me a lot in being more at ease during the interview in English, leaving the managers or the boss a nice impression. What’s more, it taught me to learn new things with persistent spirit I gained from the CCTV Cup Public Speaking Contest.
