Marta Anton
Marta Antón is Professor Emerita of Spanish in the School of Liberal Arts at Indiana University-Indianapolis. She is editor-in-chief of The Modern Language Journal since 2018. She has conducted research on sociocultural approaches to classroom interaction and dynamic assessment, on health discourse, and Spanish sociolinguistics, particularly in the area of language contact. Publications include a book on language assessment (Arco Libros, 2013), a co-authored book on health discourse (John Benjamins, 2015), book chapters and articles in academic journals on sociocultural theory and on assessment including The Routledge Handbook of Sociocultural Theory and Second Language Development (2018), The Routledge Handbook of Spanish Language Teaching (2018, 2022), The Handbook of Classroom Discourse and Interaction (2015), The Routledge Handbook of Hispanic Applied Linguistics (2014), The Routledge Handbook of Language Testing (2012), etc.
