Winnie Cheng
Prof. Winnie Cheng is the Associate Dean of Faculty of Humanities, Professor of English and Director of the Research Centre for Professional Communication in English & #40;RCPCE& #41;, Department of English, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Her research interests include writing across the curriculum, ESP, intercultural communication, pragmatics, corpus linguistics, conversation analysis and critical discourse analysis. Her book publications include Enhancing students’ professional competence and generic qualities through writing in English across the curriculum & #40;2014& #41;, Exploring corpus linguistics: Language in action & #40;2012& #41;, A corpus-driven analysis of discourse intonation & #40;2008& #41;, and Intercultural conversation & #40;2003& #41;, and edited books Teaching, learning and investigating about pragmatics: Principles, methods and practice s& #40;2015& #41;, Professional communication: Collaboration between academics and practitioners & #40;2009& #41;, and Language for professional communication: Research, practice & training & #40;2009& #41;. She has published over 100 journal articles and book chapters.
