PeterHarder
Peter Harder is professor of English linguistics at the University of Copenhagen. He is based in a European tradition of functional and structural linguistics, and his research interests focus on relations between functional and cognitive dimensions of language. His publication list includes 172 items, of which the main works are Functional Semantics & #40;1996& #41; and Meaning in Mind and Society & #40;2010& #41;, both at Mouton de Gruyter. In his publications he has taken up topics such as tense, conditionals, recursion, determiners and grammaticalization & #40;the latter in a series of publications with Kasper Boye, including A usage-based theory of grammatical status and grammaticalization in Language 2012& #41;, and foundational issues such as the relation between usage and linguistic structure, and between mind and language. His current research interests include grammaticalization, linguistic norms, and the interface between linguistics and the & #40;other& #41; social sciences. He can be reached at harder@hum.ku.dk.
